It was ran by Tommy Furclough aka Tommy Trout, won a prize on Granada TV (Hosted by Tony Wilson) to start a business, he opened it up as Moss Nook Trout Fishery and business was good for a few years.

The club was said to of done wonders for the area and was still open in 1987-88

The trout farm building in the background t had a reception room upstairs and it was a club, it was used for weddings and doos.

A family with the surname Westhead served behind the bar and Mick Gordon would manage the club when Tommy was away.

The venue suffered a fire and wasn't rebuilt, it became a dumping ground and burnt-out cars became a feature of the area.

Teens use to swim in the water and use the area for camping

The area used to be known as Billy Woods
