Railway Bridge over Warrington Old Road
Town Centre, 2020
Credit: Philip Wilkinson
Warrington Old Road (Pathway) is between the St Helens Linkway East and Marshalls Cross Road and is behind St Helens RFC Stadium.
The branch railway line over the road comes from the direction of Cannington Shaw and possibly linked up with the branch line passing behind Watson street and coming from the old branch lines that went from Ravenhead and another link line from Triplex Eccleston.
Alternatively there could have been a connection to the pit at Ravenhead or from the old United Glass site.
The bridge itself joins the St Helens and Runcorn Gap Railway.
