Pointing problem, Holy Trinity Church, Parr Mount
Parr, 23/06/2017
Credit: Ste Lingard
The photo shows a part of the church exterior that used to be covered by a small structure, around the doorway. The church was re-pointed with a type of cement when the structure was still there. Its subsequent removal shows us the stark contrast between the older, precise pointing, and the newer, crude cement pointing. It also shows the impact of pollution on the facings exposed to the air, compared to those that were covered by the structure.
