Letter from St Ann's, Rainhill to John Roby Ltd
Rainhill, 1957
Credit: Family Collection
The altar cross at St Ann's was made at the local firm of John Roby Ltd and presented to the church in 1957. It was designed by Rev. W. Lockett, a lecturer in art at the University of Liverpool, and was dedicated at the Easter service. The brass lectern was also made at Roby's Foundry but was the gift of Sarah Baxter of The Towers, Mill Lane in 1898 to celebrate Queen Victoria's long reign.
